The Quickblade 2016 Guide to the Carolina Cup

The Carolina Cup, since it’s inception, has been one of those magic events aimed at giving new and veteran SUP racers a chance to conjugate and challenge themselves in a variety of courses and conditions. We have always had our team present for clinics and, of course, to compete and this year is no different. We are excited that this year there are special events and clinics involved a number of QB’s athletes. So here is a quick scoop on the goings on with Quickblade at the Cup. The link for ALL of these clinics (and race registration) is HERE

Full immersion clinic with Travis Grant, limited to 7 paddlers giving you insight from one of the top (if not THE) top SUP racers on the planet. If winning last year’s Cup was not enough, he went on to win one of the toughest Molokai races in years. This clinic will give you plenty of one on one attention to work out the finer parts of the SUP stroke with one of the all around masters of paddling.

Foot Work Clinic with Candice Appleby (presented by Purps)

Thursday April 21, 1pm – 3pm

Some forgot that before SUP, Candice Appleby was (and still is) one of the top woman longboard surfers in the country.  Foot moves on a longboard are not all show, they actually are used to maneuver and trim the board- to accelerate and decelerate. With SUP – this becomes CRITICAL. It is the difference between winning and losing some races, paddling down wind, and handling your board in the surf. In this clinic, one of the masters and most decorated women in SUP, Candice will take you through the paces (pun intended) on how to gain confidence walking the board to improve your performance
