Stand Up Surf Paddle

Introducing the Elite Racer paddle.
COMING SOON.
At 16 oz, the Elite Racer is our lightest, stiffest standup paddle. We use an all carbon pre-preg shaft with our hollow molded carbon handle. We then build a custom, all-carbon, high-pressure molded, lightweight blade to match. The result is a paddle that’s nearly half the weight of most standup paddles on the market. If you’re serious about going fast, the Elite Racer is the paddle for you.

Kanaha Stand Up $340.00

Not everybody who decides to try standup paddling decides to try the exact same type of standup paddling. In standup paddling, the old saying “Different strokes for different folks” is certainly true. It makes sense, then, that there are different types of standup surf paddles, and Quick Blade makes three. The Elite Racer paddle is for real speed, whether standup paddling in the surf, on the ocean or on a lake. The Peahi is for those who prefer to take on bigger waves with their standup surfboard. And the Kanaha is for lakes or mild surf standup paddling.

The Kanaha standup paddle is named after the famous Kanaha surf break on Maui. The Kanaha standup paddle gives you an extremely efficient and durable blade. It features a slight dihedral on both sides of the all-carbon blade, which improves stability along the longitudinal axis during the power phase, meaning you don’t have to fight to keep the blade from twisting as you paddle. The Kanaha blade also incorporates an ABS plastic edge for improved impact strength. All of this technology resides at the end of a smooth, lightweight carbon fiber shaft, for a strong paddle that won’t fatigue your shoulders lifting it in and out of the water all day long.

You get the P50 standup paddle grip standard with the Kanaha, but you can choose to upgrade it with a t-handle in forest camo, snow camo, carbon, red, yellow, blue, orange or black. You might not have need of camouflaging your handle in the water, but you always have a need to look good while standup paddling.

As you no doubt know by now, Quick Blade makes the strongest, lightest, fastest paddles in the world. Designed by Jim Terrell, a former Olympian, Quick Blade stand up paddles are diligently designed for SUP competition, whether that competition is other stand-up paddlers or it’s simply yourself.

Besides the advantages of carbon fiber construction that contribute to light weight and strength, Jim Terrell’s 40 years of experience designing, experimenting and refining paddle designs have kept him and Quick Blade at the leading edge of standup paddle construction. When Jim Terrell and his engineering team design a Quick Blade stand up paddle, they consider four critical phases of the paddling action.

1. The Catch. The focus here is on maximizing the efficiency of the paddle’s entrance into the water.

2. The Power Phase. In the power phase, the blade is designed to anchor itself in the water so that the standup paddler can pull himself or herself past the paddle blade. This phase is the reason you want a strong stand-up paddle handle and blade that are able to withstand the stress of being pulled with resistance.

3. The Release. A smooth and clean release is extremely important. The less water the SUP blade catches, the smoother and faster the release.

4. The Recovery. The efficiency and the balance of the paddle during the return stroke before the next catch is an aspect many SUP paddle blade manufacturers don’t consider. But with Quick Blade, it’s an extremely important step in the process of paddle design, and can mean the difference between winning and losing.

So in the end, which is the best standup paddle for you? The best standup paddle for you is the one that feels best. Visit your local Quick Blade paddle dealer, pick one up (a QB paddle, not a QB dealer), and hold it. See how it feels. You’ll be surprised at how light and comfortable it feels. And once you finally put it in the water, we think you’ll agree: Quick Blade paddles are the strongest, lightest, fastest paddles on 75% of the earth.

All Quick Blade paddles are built to last. We use the finest materials available and the most advanced processes to fabricate them. Quick Blade reinforces all paddle blade edges with a tough ABS plastic edge. Quick Blade stands behind the strength and durability of our products with a one-year limited warranty.
